Why should I unlock my iPhone?
By unlocking your iPhone, you can use your iPhone with any carrier. This could potentially save you a lot of money if you take your iPhone on holiday, as you swap to a local carrier/network in any country to avoid frightful phone bills when you return home.
Why is my iPhone locked?
Generally, iPhone purchases buy an iPhone with a particular carrier on contract basis. That particular carrier implements a feature known as “SIM Lock”. Here, the iPhone holder can only use that specific network.
How do I know my iPhone is locked?
There are two ways to test if your iPhone is locked or not.
- When you insert a SIM in your iPhone, it might show the message on the top of the screen as “Invalid SIM” instead of carrier name..
- While starting up an iPhone, it will ask for activation. Upon entering Wi-Fi password, it will automatically process to check whether your iPhone is locked or unlocked from the Apple Database. If an iPhone is locked, it will display “SIM not valid”. This means that iPhone is locked.
What is a SIM lock?
When your iPhone is made to be used on particular network, it will only operate on that particular carrier. This indicates that your iPhone has a SIM lock.
What is an IMEI?
IMEI number is a unique 15 digit number assigned to each mobile device; no two iPhones have the same number. The IMEI number includes information on the origin, model, and serial number of the device.
Where do I find the IMEI?
The IMEI can be retrieved by following ways:
- Dial *#06#, IMEI number will pop up.
- Go to Settings>general>about>IMEI Number
- Check in the back panel of your iPhone
- Check in the SIM tray.
Is the Unlock permanent?
Yes, we support only official unlocking as designed by Apple. So your iPhone will remain unlocked permanently.
Can I use the original network unlocking?
Yes, a permanent unlock allows you to use an iPhone on any SIM card, including the original carrier.
Will a software update lock my iPhone?
No, our official unlock frees an iPhone from all the barriers. You can update/restore an iPhone to any latest iOS.
After unlock, which carriers can I use with my iPhone?
Users are allowed to use an iPhone on any available GSM network. If there will is a new carrier in the future, that will also be supported in your unlocked iPhone.
Why do all unlock services have different prices?
As unlocking iPhones is based on carriers, different carriers charge according to their policies. That makes a difference in prices of unlocking an iphone.
What is a PUK code?
A PUK (i.e. PIN Unlock Key) is needed to unlock SIM cards that have become locked after three successive incorrect PIN entries.
Note : If you enter the wrong PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new one. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator".
How can I pay ?
Unlock-my-iphone uses a secure credit/debit card payment gateway. You simply have to choose your iPhone Model followed by carrier and country info. After adding the IMEI number to your service, you will be redirected to the official invoice page. Once we receive your details securely, you will be redirected to Credit/debit card payment option where you can enter your card info securely. Your details won’t be stored anywhere so you are in safe hands!
What is the refund policy and how will I be refunded?
In any circumstances, if we can’t unlock your iPhone in Apple's database, we will refund you. You will receive the refund same way you used to pay us. Due to Payment Gateway/Bank clerical process, refunds may take up to 7 days to hit your card. For circumstances where an IMEI has been entered incorrectly or an incorrect network provided then usually the refund will be made minus our charges.
Do I have to send iPhone to you for unlocking?
NO. The process for factory unlocking an iPhone is all officially online. All we need is IMEI while ordering. We process your IMEI for permanent unlock. Once we get a confirmation from apple, we will forward the confirmation to you. All you need to do is to activate your iPhone as suggested by us. That’s it. You don’t have to hand over your iPhone to anyone.
